Portrait Bash Information

What is a Portrait Bash?
A Portrait Bash is a fun social event or party organized by a host(ess) in which the host invites their family and friends to partake in mini professional portrait sessions with Grace Lightner, a professional portrait photographer. There are no session fees, no minimum orders and no selling is required during the time of the event. The host and their guests enjoy socializing during the event with the host normally providing light snacks & refreshments. The host also distributes information about ordering prints and remains at the party to entertain the guests until it is over. Within weeks of the event the host and guests can go online to view the results of their portrait sessions and can choose to order their favorite shots to be received as professional prints.

The benefit to the host is that they can earn free portraits (up to 15% of the total order) from their own session from their Portrait Bash. It is an affordable, rewarding and no commitment way to give yourself and your guests the opportunity to have beautiful professional portraits done in a fun atmosphere. Your guests will be thrilled with the beautiful results and the ease of the sessions. And as a host, you will be thrilled at the free portraits you can earn for yourself & your family!

What are the host's responsibilities?
The host will want to send out invitations at least 4 weeks prior to the party to as many guests as they are willing to host (and several extra more since not all guests will likely be able to attend). As guests RSVP, the host will be in charge of scheduling each photo session so that they occur back to back. Each mini photo session lasts 15 minutes long and each individual to be photographed will need to have their own session scheduled prior to the party.

A minimum of 7 sessions much be scheduled in order for the Portrait Bash to take place. We provide the host will all instruction, forms and information needed in order to organize the party. If the session is to occur at the host's home, a space of at least 10' x 10' will need to be available so that the photographer can set up her equipment, this space should be completely separate (in another room) from the area that the party will take place. The host will need to be present the entire party and will also want to provide light snacks and refreshments to their guests as well as make sure that everyone including the host is enjoying themselves. The host will also keep an eye on the schedule to make sure guests are ready to start at least 10 minutes before each session. The host will also need to make sure that each guest receives any informational paperwork and completes any necessary forms.

After the party when the proofs are posted online, the host will want to encourage all of their guests to place their print orders and make their payments within the 10 day ordering deadline. During this time the guests will be qualified to buy portraits in packages at special discounts created specifically for Portrait Bash prints. The host will also receive a commission on all orders that are placed within the ordering deadline. Any order placed & paid for after the ordering deadline will not go towards the host's commission and will not qualify for special discounts. Once the orders are fulfilled, the prints will be delivered to the host and the host would then need to make arrangements with their guests so they can pick up their prints.

What are the benefits?
There are SO many benefits for the host. And most of those also benefit all guests.

No session fees! Normally a session fee for an on location shoot with this amount of equipment would cost at least $100, but for a Portrait Bash it is completely free!
Hosts can book an extra session for themselves.
No selling takes place at the party! One huge less thing to worry about as you make sure your guests are entertained. And guests will feel more at ease knowing they won't have to spend a dime unless they love the results. We do recommend that once the proof slideshow is up that the host contact each guest and encourage them to place their orders. We will make it easy by delivering gorgeous images, so enticing your guests to purchase portraits will be easy. Remember, the larger the total order, the more free portraits you can earn as a host!
There are no minimum orders. Only purchase what you adore!
As a host you can earn up to 15% of the total order in commissions that can be used toward free portraits that are taken of the host & their family on the day of the party.
A host can also earn a $35 credit for each Portrait Bash they encourage a guest to book within the ordering deadline. The best way to get your family & friends to sign up for their own Portrait Bash is by being a great host and making sure the guests all have a great time, we will make sure the portrait results look amazing so with a little encouragement you can earn a lot of free prints this way.
