Hope + Jon’s Wedding at Albright College | Reading Wedding Photographer

I can recall my Assistant Jaime & I chatting on the way home how gorgeous the Bride was.  Hope carried off this stunning, clean, Classic Vintage look that was modern yet could have easily been pulled by a Hollywood Bride from the 1930′s or 40′s.  Hope’s dress was beyond stunning.  So much so that it pains me to think that it might not be worn again.  And Jon had the presence, charisma and swagger of modern day Sinatra.  I truly could have photographed this couple all day long…

Hope & Jon Heffner | Albright College | Reading Wedding Photographer | Grace Lightner Photography

Hope & Jon exchanged their vows at the beautiful historic Kachel Chapel located on the Albright College campus in Reading, which is where they studied & met.  It was slated to rain all day, and it most definitely did.  However it would have no negative affect on the mood and celebration of the day.  And while we only touched a fraction of what was at our disposal, I couldn’t be more thrilled with the settings the campus grounds had to offer us for Hope & Jon’s Bridals.

We covered a small portion of the Reception which took place in Leesburg, a short but absolutely gorgeous drive away, at Fish Pond West, Inc.

And as we wrapped up & left the Reception, I could not believe my eyes.  Jon’s Truck, which from all accounts would be considered his pride & joy & his 2nd love next to his new Bride, was being over zealously decorated, like a Christmas tree in the North Pole, with saran wrap & toilet paper…  My first thought was, “Oh no!  These poor guests will not live to see tomorrow…”.  And my 2nd thought was, “I better document this…”.  I hope they lived… :)

Kate + Mark | Wedding Sneak Peeks Part 2 | Palmyra Wedding Photographer

The Blog has been really quiet lately, I know…  (Bad blogger, shame on me!)  It has been a crazy last few months, with unexpected suprises popping up one right after another just to add to the frenzy =)  We are running behind, esp with editing.  As a result blogging has been pushed to the back burner.  However it finally feels like progress is being made, yay!  And to reward myself I just had to take the opportunity to finally share a long awaited 2nd set of Sneak Peeks from Kate & Mark’s Super Fabulous Ultra Fantastic Wedding Day!

What an AMAZING time it was for everyone!  People of all ages boogied down and celebrated as if they were channeling James Brown.  Kate & Mark set the stage by blowing everyone away with their first dance which was fueled by what I can only describe as pure-euphoric-wedded-bliss.  It was like manna raining down from heaven to feed my hungry cameras.

The air was so thick with feel good energy, love, laughter & joy, that it tickled your nose and washed over you in such a refreshing way that I can’t even remember how hot it was that beautiful summer day.

And that kid with the moves… boy does he know how to dominate a dance floor!  If I could, I’d hire him to attend all of my Weddings to help get the party started and get people out on the dance floor!

Kate and Mark are 2 amazingly beautiful people with ginormous hearts of gold.  Being amongst their Family & Friends it isn’t hard to see why.  Their Family is so darn great!  Is there room for 1 more? ;)

Is there a video posted out there of Kate’s Brother’s speech?  People were crying it was so hilarious…

Jaxon & Sofia | Harrisburg Newborn Twins Photographer

Meet Jaxon & Sofia.  It was so exciting to meet this precious little pair and the parents that are so lucky to call them their own.

At just around 2 weeks old their individual personalities were already shining.  From what I gathered from Mom, Jaxon seems to enjoy his space & Sofia loves to invade it…  and I could already envision them at 11 going through the exact same thing:)

But for the present day my eyes & heart were in a whirl as I took in all of their beautiful & tiny similarities & differences.

Little Dallas Cowboys Fan | Jxon Newborn Portrait | Harrisburg Newborn Baby Photographer

Jaxon has the coolest boy’s name that I have seen in a long time.  I mean how many names get to have the letter x?  Love it…   He also has this beautiful head of caramel colored hair which is so different from his twin sister’s jet black overflowing mane of hair.

Pretty Fairy Princess Pink Tutu | Sofia Newborn Portrait | Harrisburg Newborn Baby Photographer

Sofia’s abundence of beautiful black hair in combination with her big wonderous eyes will without a doubt tally up numerous comments & compliments throughout her 1st year.  She was quite alert for most of the session so I was able to capture her calmly taking in her surroundings with those big beautiful eyes of hers.

Dad is a huge, and I mean HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan.  So you know these babies are going to accumulate a wealth of Cowboy’s clothes, toys & blankies.  (Note to Family & Friends, if you are unsure what kind of gift to give on special occasions & Holidays, you can’t go wrong with Cowboys stuff… oh and DC Capitals stuff too…  oh and lots and lots of diapers! ;) )

Thank you to Sapna & Andy for letting me turn their beautiful home into a studio for a good chunk of the day.  You both are amazing Parents and super cool.  Thank you for the honor of photographing your beautiful Twins which I am sure have grown even more adorably beautiful since we met.

Chris | Class of 2012 | Halifax High School Photographer

I was really excited to meet & photograph Chris.  I photographed Jordyn’s, Chris’s older Sister, Senior Portraits a couple of years ago and not only was she way cool, gorgeous, super athletic & sweet, her results turned out AWESOME!  I remember her Mom describing Chris even back then as an extremely social & popular kid.

So Chris describes himself as someone who gives 100% in everything he does and never gives up.  And by all accounts, he is also an amazing star athlete and involved in a huge variety of sports.  I knew a big personality was going to walk into my studio and I wanted to be sure that I was going to capture it so that it could be expressed in a not so subtle way.

Chris | Halifax High School Senior Portrait | Central PA Senior Portrait Photographer

I love it when people describe to me shots they would like to try out, especially when they talk in terms of lighting.  Even if they are not familiar with lighting, it shows that they can pick up on & appreciate how different lighting affects the feel & look of a shot.  I was impressed with how Chris described some of the more dramatic shots, low light shots he wanted to try out, especially for the sports shots.

Oh & BTW, the first time we tried to do Chris’s session, within 30 minutes, a crazy thunderstorm rolled through and we lost power in the studio. Usually if we lose power, it comes right back on within a minute, 15 minutes max. So I assured them we could wait it out. So here we are sitting around chatting in the dark, when my husband peeks into the studio and announces that one of the light poles nearby is on fire! Huh, really? So we ended up having to reschedule.  Chris’s Mom Aimee told me at the 2nd session that not only was the pole on fire but so was the road!!!

It is so refreshing to see someone Chris’s age living their life with so much confidence, determination & passion.  And not only that, he is such an incredibly nice guy!  For more sneak peeks from Chris’s Senior Session, please click on the image below!

What awesome shots! I love the lighting and just the way Chris looks totally relaxed. Enjoyed the changing shots and the background music – very nice and professional. I’ve seen a lot of photography out there and I’m very impressed.

Taryn Tenaglia - September 12, 2011 - 10:50 pm

I am one of Jordyn’s friends/roommate. You did a wonderful job capturing Chris’ huge personality!

Jordyn - September 12, 2011 - 10:47 pm

Hey Grace!

I’m loving my brother’s pictures, I can’t wait to see how the rest of them turned out! Great job!! And thanks for the shout out :)

Welcoming Drew | Camp Hill Newborn & Family Photographer

Meet Drew!  I was SOOO eager to meet this handsome little guy!  His stunning Mommy Erin styles our Family’s hair and we have gotten to know & adore her and her Family over the years.  As her due date was coming closer, I was of course checking in regularly on Facebook for any news of Baby Drew’s arrival.  When he did arrive, the masses of “Yay!!!!!” & “Congrats!!!!” posted on her wall were deafening!  This is one very celebrated little boy =)
