Amy's Maternity Portraits

Amy was an amazing model, cool and easy going. She did not mind my ideas for dramatic portraits with a modern & artistic twist to the wildly popular style of contemporary and tasteful semi-nude maternity portraits.

It takes a little courage to go this route, but that little bit of courage really results in some incredibly amazing and emotionally evokative portraits (if done right and with an artistic vision).

I got to test out some different artistic interpretations, I wanted to create a series of dreamy, romantic, dramatic and introspective maternity portraits that celebrated the belly, pregnant form, feminity, and the anticipation of the amazing new life and journey that was soon to come.

Cool story behind Amy's Maternity Portraits, she got them done the EVENING before she was scheduled to go in and have a c-section and deliver. That means these were taken less than 24 hours prior to having her baby in her arms. Really neat when you think about it. The portraits she received will always have that unique story and circumstance behind it, a really special story to tell her daughter as she grows up.

Portrait Tip:
For maternity portraits the best time to schedule them is during the 2nd or early 3rd trimester when the belly is beautifully prominent. Stretch marks are a natural part of pregnancy and if you happen to dislike the look of them we offer professional retouching at a small added fee where we can retouch them to be less prominent or completely retouch them out of your maternity portraits. Having your portraits taken during your pregnancy is a beautiful gift to give yourself, your family and your new arrival. We offer a private, and personalized experience with your comfort and artistic vision in mind to create gorgeous portraits that will celebrate this beautiful and important new chapter in your lives.
