Porcelain Dolls

I was asked by Michelle if I could re-create a look described as a “Porcelain Doll” portrait for her adorable twins.  She had such a portrait done of her oldest child several years ago and wanted to have the same done for her twins.  My interest was immediately piqued (I am a sucker for styles that have intriguing names =)) and I just really enjoy the challenge of trying out different editing & artwork techniques to create (on in this case re-create) new looks.

And here are her Porcelain Doll twins.

I love the strong classic look of these portraits.  It has a very old hollywood portrait feel to them (translated for children of course).  The accentuation of the eyes and the purposeful softening of all else really draws you into those beautiful big eyes.

Well shoot normally I do try for solo photos of Mom however we were limited in time on this particular session. Michelle maybe Erik should surprise you by sending you over for a solo mini session ;) We’d have a blast and the photos would be as GORGEOUS as your beautiful smile!

Grace-Thanks so much. You did an amazing job! I,too, am the proud “MiMi” of those beautiful twins and their big sister.
I have to agree with Donna, Michelle should have her picture made also (for Erik!).

I commend you Grace–well done! But I am just a little bit prejudice–I am a proud grandmother of the twins and Madeline. Talk Michelle into have HER portrait done!
