Sweet Gabi

This little one is Gabriella (I LOVE this name). She is just 9 days old here and oh what a sweet little bundle she is. So cute!

Now for the 1st image, why all that empty space on the left? Well as Artists we call this Negative Space and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. In this image unless you are a strict traditionalist it works. It creates visual tension and causes the mind to react more and the eyes to linger longer. Plus it creates an area that can be used to add other images to create a multi image composite or collage. The negative space can also be used to add text and create a very sweet photo Baby Announcement. We design & create custom ones here at our studio.

Is that a 9 day old smile?

This series of Baby Bundle portraits were shot in my studio using 3 different lighting techniques. If you look closely you can see how each of the 3 different lighting techniques combined with the different image compositions can create 3 very different looking images even though they are all of the same pose.

And that is just how we roll =)

PS. If you are an expecting or brand new parent, I highly recommend getting your newborn’s portraits done as soon after they are born as possible! They will never be this small again and will grow so fast even from week to week at this age.
